Tessa Dastrup began her ballet training with Raymond Van Mason at The School of Imagine Ballet Theatre in Ogden, Utah. She became a company member with Imagine Ballet Theatre in 2004. Tessa went on to study with Cristobal Marquez at The Ballet Conservatory of Salt Lake City, as a scholarship student in their pre-professional training program. In 2010, Tessa received a ballet scholarship to Utah Valley University and was selected as a freshman to join UVU’s Repertory Ballet Ensemble. While traveling with the company to Regional Dance America, Tessa was offered scholarships to Jacqueline’s School of Ballet Summer Intensive and Ririe-Woodbury’s “Move-It” Summer Intensive, which she attended in summer of 2013. While finishing up her senior year, Tessa performed as a supplemental dancer with UVU’s professional resident company, Utah Regional Ballet, for their 2014-2015 season. In April of 2015, Tessa graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Fine Arts, emphasis ballet. Upon graduation, Tessa was offered an apprentice contract to dance with Utah Regional Ballet. Tessa also enjoys sharing the beauty of ballet through teaching. She is an experienced teacher with a variety of ages and levels. She currently teaches at The Dance Conservatory in Pleasant Grove, where she has had the opportunity to develop her passion for choreography. Tessa looks forward to continuing her passion for dance through performing, teaching, and choreographing.
