Robert Tyler Burkett

Tyler Burkett is originally from Corpus Christi, Texas. He received his early training at Ballet Austin and Inland Pacific Ballet in Claremont, CA. Tyler also attended Ballet West Academy before accepting a full scholarship to the University of Utah in 2007. In 2007, Tyler won the “Grand Prix Award” at the YAGP semi-finals in Chicago and 1st place at the 2008 YAGP semi-finals in Denver. He went on to compete in the final round of the YAGP New York City finals both years. In 2008 Tyler became a Demi Soloist with Inland Pacific Ballet and later that year accepted a contract with the Los Angeles Ballet where he performed various principal and soloist roles. He choreographed Attention Deficit Disorder performed by the Los Angeles Ballet. Tyler joined Utah Regional Ballet as a principal dancer in 2010. He has taught and choreographed throughout Salt Lake and Utah Valley. Tyler recently choreographed Variations on Static for Utah Regional Ballet II which was performed at the Regional Dance America Pacific festival. He was awarded “Best Emerging Choreography” at the festival. Tyler attends Utah Valley University on full scholarship and teaches at Jacqueline’s School of Ballet.
